“42” is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything: Ever wondered, where the term 42hacks comes from and what it means? In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, an enormous supercomputer named Deep Thought calculated “42” as the answer to the ultimate question over a period of 7.5 million years. Hacks comes from Hackathons, a time boxed gathering with ready to use outcomes. 42hacks is a non profit organization and belongs to its members.

Growing 42hacks as members within one hour: We all already have a full plate. But mother earth cannot wait any longer. How do we turn our concern into action in a timely and manageable way? In a Growth Hack, you activate your network within one hour - and are done with what is minimally expected from a member of 42hacks. Pick a date and take part in your own growth hack.
Railway CEOs are interested in a cluster hack: Currently we see a lot of interest in building a cluster to innovate climate solutions around mobility, especially the last mile of railways. And there is a lot more, like smarter breaking trains (saves really a lot of energy), CO2 neutral steel tracks, etc. etc.

🔥 Fundraising for 420 climate start-ups. (Action Hack, Aug 4, 5-7pm): Ideas are nothing unless a team with enough funding and team-resources executes long enough on it. Therefore, we want to raise between 1 and 4 billion€ to fund the hackathons and more importantly the 420 open-source start-ups with a core team of 5 to 10 people, financed for 5 years. Register here.
🔥 Scope and Timeline of the first hack (Action Hack): We want to organize our first hack towards the end of the year or beginning of the next. For some, it’s too ambitious, for others too late. It all depends on the scope and our goals we set for the first iteration of 42hacks. Register here.
